August Contest

New Technique: "Gut Art"

Old Technique: "My Style"

***PLEASE REMEMBER TO LEAVE A COMMENT SO I CAN PICK A WINNER.

Hey Guys:
For those of you who know me well, you know I am a workshop junkie. I am always looking for a workshop to attend. Being roadtrip or online and with everyone I attend I pick up a new technique. So I thought for this contest I would let you judge which art piece you like better. One is my old technique and the other is a new technique called Gut Art by Mystele. Mystele shows you how to let go and not try to control your art. Check out her website. "Little Glimpses Studio" really cool stuff.
One winner will be selected from the voting list. Please vote and leave a comment in the comment section. This way I will know what you like about your choice. The winner will receive a goody bag of vintage/vintage style ephemera.
With all that said here are your choices. Cast your vote in the voting section.
Thanks a bundle,
Kimberly

Well,I think I like both styles ! The new style has more movement, but I like the serenity of the old style, too. If I have to choose just one,I'd go with the new style.

I like the brightness, and movement, in the new style, but I like the old style too,it has a very serene feeling to it.I guess if I had to choose just one,I would choose the new style.

WOW! I love them both! BUT, the texture and depth of the new technique definitely adds to the 'feminine' nature of your work. I love the new blog design, too! *oops, may have just revealed that i don't visit as often as i should - darned FaceBook - HA!*

Can't WAIT 'til I get to see you (and some of your gorgeous work) in person! September is coming :-)

Definitely the Gut Art! Your original is beautiful but the Gut Art, is spontaneous, eye catching, vibrant and full of life. I'm hoping it was an online class so I can take it! Love your work.

Definitely the Gut Art. Your original art is absolutely beautiful but the Gut Art just draws me in. It is vibrant, full of life, and just something about it is so different. I hope that was an online class because I too am a workshop and book junkie. Love your work!

I love both styles but I like the new style. It makes the face look a little more intense and has more dimension.

I love the new style. The old one is great too but the new one has more life and depth.

Hey Kimberly-
I love both styles - but you can tell you painted "free-er" on the gut style. Loved to see the difference!

Howdy Kimberly,

Both of your styles are wonderful. If I must choose though, I'll have the OLD style.

To me your old style is classic - reminds me of the masters! The master artists that is...Picasso, etc.

Some interesting changes are going on in my life right now, I'll email you offline soon about my show.

THanks for soing this contest!

Peace,
LuLu

Wow this is a tough one, both are incredible pieces of art, each with defining qualities. The first one is so vibrant and looks to be textural, I do want to reach out and touch it. The second, more restful and serene, reaching out to deeper emotions. There is no reason you should stick to one style, as long as they both are 'you' As humans we are multi faceted beings, that should reflect in our creativity.

I love the background of the new style. The more color the better I always say. Very nice work.

I love both of your styles.....but, lately I have been doing everything through the gut.......and that can be easy and hard to do at the same time. So I definitely have an appreciation for anything that comes from your gut------great name for it!!!!!

I love the name too. Mystele is the originator and we can thank her for sharing her wonderful talent with the world.

I really like the "Gut Art". The texture of the background and the flowers in the foreground. Very nice depth. Colors are spectacular.

I think I like the old style best- as far as form, expression and "vibe" go- but I do like the new style as well. I think the background is "full" lively unpredictable.

Your art is beautiful Kimberly, though I'd vote for gut art...I think it would challenge an already accomplished artist to step out of their 'box'....Miss you Artful Journey buddy!!! Beth
